First Night

Once upon a time at Grand Central. There was a time when New Years Eve was celebrated by couples in formal wear danced to a live band. It was called First Night and there were many activities to welcome the New Year under the First Night umbrella.

Oh, and you did need tickets for these activities.

That all ended after Sept. 11th

Now it is verboten. With good reason.

This was at the stroke of midnight, barely visible on the clock. Photographed with Mamiya 6. Lots of flashbulbs going off.
